Terms of Service

1. The Service

MiaoScore ("the Service") is an interactive piano-learning platform operated by MiaoScore ("we", "us", "our"). The Service provides interactive sheet music, real-time MIDI performance feedback, practice tracking, and a marketplace where creators publish and sell annotated piano scores to learners.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service — including the web app at app.miaoscore.com, the creator studio at studio.miaoscore.com, and the MiaoScore mobile apps — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when registering. You may sign up with an email address or a supported third-party identity provider (Google, Apple).
• You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's consent.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Purchases, Credits and Subscriptions

Some scores and features are paid. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record — your payment is made to Lemon Squeezy subject to its terms and privacy policy, and Lemon Squeezy handles applicable sales taxes.

• Paid scores and credits are licensed, not sold; they are tied to your account and are non-transferable.
• Prices are displayed at checkout and may change; price changes do not affect purchases already completed.
• We may grant refunds at our discretion or where required by law. Refunded purchases may be revoked from your account.
• Credits and unlocks have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.

4. Creator Content and Scores

• Creators retain ownership of the scores and annotations they upload. By publishing, a creator grants us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content through the Service, and to purchasers who have licensed it.
• Creators represent that they own or have the rights to everything they publish — including musical compositions, which may be copyrighted works. We may remove content that infringes third-party rights.
• Purchasers receive a personal, non-commercial license to view and practice with a purchased score inside the Service. You may not redistribute, resell, scrape, or republish score content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Copy, scrape, or bulk-download scores or any Service content beyond what your license allows;
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful;
• Interfere with the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure (including attempting to bypass access controls or payment checks);
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or to train machine-learning models on Service content without our written consent;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

6. Practice Data

When you play with MIDI input, the Service records performance events (such as notes played, timing, and accuracy) to provide feedback, progress tracking, and practice recommendations. This data belongs to your account and is used as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, its software, design, and branding are owned by MiaoScore and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or code.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that learning outcomes will meet your expectations. Interactive feedback and AI-generated guidance are aids, not a substitute for qualified music instruction.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MiaoScore is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, licenses to purchased content end except where we have already delivered the content to you.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date; for material changes we will provide additional notice where reasonable. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
